Cute Wall Art

Lily has had these plain, white letters that spell out her name on her wall since we decorated her nursery five years ago. They were hanging up there looking all blah and boring, so I decided to fancy them up!
I am not super crafty…
but I think they turned out pretty darn cute!



My supplies:
Letters (I already had)
4 cheapo dollar store frames
Scrapbook paper and cardstock
Dollar store butterfly embellishments (not shown because Lily picked those out last minute)
White spray paint
Mod Podge
Foam brushes
Pencil and scissors for tracing and cutting





First I sprayed each of the frames white, and let them dry overnight.

I decided which patterns/colors I wanted to coordinate with each letter and background color/pattern. This was the hardest part, as I am soooo darn indecisive…which I know I have mentioned before.
Then, I took the frames apart and discarded the glass (recycled). 
I traced the back pieces (I don’t know the technical term for those…Is there one?) of the frames onto each of the 4 sheets of paper I had chosen for the background, then repeated for each of the letters.
I carefully cut everything out.

I glued the background pieces together…



and did the same with the letters.
Do you see that excited little hand trying to get in on the action?  Haha!

Once all of the pieces were dry, I assembled my frames. I attached the letters to the back pieces with hot glue.














I laid out my frames to decide where I wanted to place my adorable little butterflies, and hot glued those to the corners of my frames.

Viola!














This whole project cost me under $12!
But…
I can’t decide if I should leave the letters staggered, or place them in a straight line???
